إن احساس العروس بالخوف من التجربه الجديده قد يؤدي إراديا إلى حدوث توتر أو انقباض شديد بعضلات الحوض مما يؤدي بالتالي إلى تقلص أو قفل فتحه المهبل وهذا يؤدى بدوره إلى صعوبة الأيلاج وهذا يعرف
باسم:تشنج المهبل(Vaginismus)


وهذا التشبج يزول عادة تدريجيا لكنه قد يستمر لفتره طويله وبالتالي يصبح عقبه مزعجه فى طريق المعاشره الزوجيه..

وأحيانا يرتبط هذا التشنج بأسباب أخرى_غير الخجل_ مثل عدم توافر الحب والموده تجاه الزوج,أو بسبب مسلكه العنيف فى المعاشره,وقد يرجع كذلك لأسباب أخرى أكثر عمقا مثل بغض الزوجه للمعاشره الجنسيه باعتبارها عملا قبيحا بناء على المفهوم الذى اكتسبته من خلال نشأتها عن الجنس؟؟؟


وحالة التشنج المهبلى يمكن أن يزول تدريجيا ويعتمد الجانب الاكبر فى التخلص منها على الزوج فيجب ان يساعد زوجته على تقبل العمليه الجنسيه شيئا فشيئا بالتودد واستعمال مشاعره نحوها..

أما فى الحالات الشديده التى يستحيل معها الجماع والتى يطول بقاؤها فإنه ينبغى استشاره الطبيبه
وستقوم الطبيبه بوصف عقاقير مهدئه ومرخيه للعضلات ومحاوله تصحيح العوامل النفسيه المسببه لهذا التشنج وتقديم النصائح المفيده للزوجين
